Found in South Island of New Zealand and even in Rakiura, they lived in lowlands (grassland, forest, duneland Due to their bill and skull morphology, it is believed that the giant Moa fed on twigs, flowers, berries, leaves and also seeds from the smaller branches of trees.The Giant Moa were large birds and the biggest were about 6ft 6in (2 metres) high at the back and reached a folliage of about 11ft 10in (3.6 metres) off the ground, and weighed up to 230 kg (510 lb)....They could only lay one egg at a time which was about 18cm (7in) in diameter, 25cm (10in) long and weighed about 4kg.
