FEMINISM: WOMEN EDUCATION DOES NOT END IN THE KITCHEN

Since years back, women are not allowed to hold high positions in society such as the position of President, governor and others. Laws in Nigeria hold women back therefore women do not have a say or the equal right as the other gender.

Despite the fact that we have highly educated literates and Wise women they held back. Some people believe that women's education ends in the kitchen and they do not belong to any position or political party other than the kitchen, or the other room. In the aspect of Nigeria's economy, women empowerment is essential as their thoughts and their value system leads to the development of a good nation. When a woman is empowered, it doesn't mean that the other gender becomes powerless. But together they can contribute more efficiently towards the growth and development of the country in every aspect.

When it comes to the choice of careers, some even considered women's work to include childcare, as work and occupation such as nursing. Women are not allowed to air their opinion in the society, which is one of the reasons why the country is not moving or developed.

With the growth in mother civilization over time and due to expansion of business, social and political activities, society all over the world I've realized the potential of women as contribution to the economic growth and development. The entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerian women account for 45% ownership of micro businesses in Nigeria with 25 million female entrepreneurs operating within this segment and this places Nigeria among the highest entrepreneurship rate globally.

Some prominent women have distinguished themselves both national and globally, they made an impact to the society they live in: a female global icon is Christiane Amanpour, a British- Iranian journalist who is the Cable News Network (CNN)’s senior correspondence, who has the distinguished as a fearless and objective investigative journalist.Christiane Maria Heideh Amanpour is a British-Iranian journalist and TV host.Amanpour is the chief international ankle for CNN and host of CNN international’s nightly interview program. She is also the host of Amanpour and company on PBS. Born on 12 January 1958 in London, United Kingdom to an Iranian parent she's married to James Reuben and is blessed with a son. 

Also, women such as Christine Madeleine Odette Largade come to one's memory for a dignified role in The global economy and politics. A French politician, economist and a lawyer who is the president of the European Central Bank. She previously served as a chair and managing director of the international monetary fund from 2011 till 2019. Born on the 1st of January 1956, she's in 9th Arrondissements of Paris, Paris.

On the global front, women's economic empowerment boosts productivity, increased economic diversification and income equality in addition to the other positive development outcomes. Also in Nigeria there are some prominent women who did an acid doing very well in their various fields and positions.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a Nigerian-American economist, fair trade leader, environmental sustainability advocate, human welfare champion, sustainable finance Maven and global development expert. Born on 13 June 1954 in Anambra state, she was a special envoy to mobilize International economic support for continental fight against covid 19 since 2020. She has been serving as the director general of the World trade organization.

  Another distinguished Nigeria woman is Dr Mrs Dora Akunyili, she was the director general for food and drug administration and control of Nigeria from 2001 to 2008 she wrote several books including The war against counterfeit medicine: My story. She was a great woman before she sadly passed on on July 7 2014.

With the rise in technology and modern civilization over the time and due to expansion of business and social and political activities, societies around the world have realized the potential of women and their contribution to economic growth and development.

According to research as of May 2024, there are 28 countries where 28 women serve as head of state or governor. At the current rate, gender equality in the highest position of power will not be rich for another 13 years. 

In conclusion, the women of our mother childbearing and I'll keep him if given the help pushing it to thrive and flourish without being looked down on. Women are given a chance to participate in both political and economic sectors in the country to help advance a greater equality and growth of the Nation .
