CRS SPORTS  REVITALIZATION COMMITTEE INAUGURATED

In an endeavor to breathe new life into sports within the state, the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, has directed the Strategic Partnership Committee to foster collaborations and Partnerships aimed at enhancing the sports landscape in the State.

She emphasized the profound impact of sports on society, underlining its pivotal role in steering youths away from social vices and criminal activities. 

Hon. Atsu also underscored the urgency of revitalizing sports at the grassroots level, starting from all local government areas, as the State Governor is very keen to sporting activities in the state, hence the need for the committee.

The committee's inauguration, led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports Development, Mr. Ogboaka Thomas Okwenda, emphasized the importance of cohesive teamwork among its members to achieve success and fulfill their expected responsibilities. 

The announcement of the committee were as follows; 

This significant event was graced by the presence of representatives from various government departments, including the Ministry of Youth Development, Finance, Job Creation and Employment, as well as the Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and other relevant MDAs, signifying a united effort to rejuvenate and uplift the state's sports sector.
