 When his partner Martha begs him to talk, he tells her they have all the time in the world. Moments later, she tragically falls to her death in the Victoria Falls mist 

 Consumed by grief, Michael drives recklessly down a pitch black highway, causing a horrific crash that kills his lifelong friends 

 Michael wakes up paralyzed from the waist down in a hospital bed. He is visited by a terrifying, faceless supernatural entity that forces him to live with the crushing guilt of the tomorrows he stole from others.
