In an exhilarating NNL 2025 encounter, Rovers FC edged out Sporting Lagos with a 1-0 victory in Calabar, thanks to a first-half goal from Simeon Umeh The match, held at the Rovers’ home ground, saw Umeh's precise strike in the first 45 minutes as the game’s lone goal, which secured all three points for his side. The assist for the crucial goal came from Ette Okon, affectionately known as Zambrota, who displayed excellent vision and precision to set up Umeh’s effort.

Rovers FC's coach, James Esu, expressed his delight after the match, commending his players for their resilience and commitment on the pitch.
