Rovers FC etched their name in history as they emerged champions of the 2025 Cross River State Football Association Presidential Cup, defeating E-World United FC 1-0 in a thrilling final at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar. 

The decisive moment came in the 36th minute when Joshua Sunday coolly converted a penalty, securing the only goal of the match.

Rovers FC showcased resilience and tactical discipline, holding off E-World United FC’s persistent attacks to seal a well-earned victory.  

It was a moment of immense joy for Rovers FC Chairman, Mr. Etim Okon, as he celebrated his first trophy with the club. In his post-match remarks, he expressed gratitude to the players, coaching staff, technical crew, and fans for their unwavering commitment and belief in the team’s vision.

Mr. Okon dedicated the victory to His Excellency, Apostle Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, acknowledging his steadfast support for the team. He also reassured the players of brighter days ahead, promising further development and investment in the club’s future.  

The victory marks a significant milestone for Rovers FC, reaffirming their dominance in Cross River football and setting a solid foundation for future competitions.

Fans erupted in celebration, cheering their heroes as the team lifted the prestigious Presidential Cup trophy.
