Hon. Agnes Atsu Applauds Niger Delta Sports Festival’s Talent Discovery Mission

The highly anticipated Niger Delta Sports Festival has taken a major step forward with the inauguration of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) today. The committee, comprising staff of Dunamis Icon, representatives from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and the nine Commissioners of Sports from the Niger Delta states, has been charged with the responsibility of making the festival a resounding success.  

As the first of its kind, the festival aims to foster sports development in the region by identifying and nurturing young talents from both urban and rural areas. The Commissioners of Sports from each participating state have been tasked with leading their respective Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) to ensure the smooth selection of eligible athletes and the overall success of the event.  

Speaking at the inauguration, the Cross River State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, expressed her delight over the initiative. She emphasized that the festival provides a golden opportunity to discover and develop young athletes, paving the way for them to access greater sporting opportunities at national and international levels.  

With the collaborative efforts of the NDDC, Dunamis Icon, and the Niger Delta Commissioners, the Niger Delta Sports Festival promises to be a dynamic and effective platform for talent discovery, youth engagement, and sports excellence. The event is set to create an exciting sporting atmosphere, uniting the region through competition and fostering a new generation of champions.
