You are  in a  True State of Forgiveness when you know  a person is intentionally doing or did things to hurt or destroy you and you look straight into his / her  eyes, smile and still treat him/her as a person with love and respect. At that point, my brother, nobody can ever do things to get under your skin again. 

The practice of Forgiveness began from the area of  Mosaic Law where it started as “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” for the retribution of wrongdoing.  Believers of this principle feel strongly that for justice to be said to be served, the wrongdoer must suffer the same fate he meted out to his/ her victim.  However, the consequential effect of this principle is that it never brings retribution to an end.  At any point in time, someone always feels he/she has suffered more wrong than he/she has done and will be willing to pay back. 

This created a lot of feuds between people that one could handle. This then transferred responsibility to the kings and Judges to administer forgiveness through a fair hearing of cases of wrongdoing and the use of their wisdom to appropriate a fair retribution to wrongdoers. This later gave birth to the court system to administer forgiveness which is called Justice.  During this time,  the judges' administration of fair retribution for wrong was done through application of laws. to bring justice and serenity in society. 

Not long ago, people became dissatisfied with the administration of justice through  the flaws of the judges and started manipulating the justice system to change judgment in their favour and continue to perpetuate the wrongs. This continued till the new covenant  came into being and to create a shift in  paradigm. 

When Jesus came, he introduced a higher practice of  Forgiveness, Fairness and Justice hidden in His Grace and Mercy to epitomize the BEAUTY OF LOVE.  You don't need to do anything to let a wrongdoer have retribution for a wrong done. He has taken all unto himself and taught us to let go of the hurts in our hearts.  

To help us get a hold on this new teaching, he started from the level of equal measure, just as the mosaic law, through the Lord's prayer.  “

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespassed against us” 

 That's we should  share with our neighbours, the same measure of forgiveness we seek from our heavenly Father. 

Further, Lord Jesus Christ taught us to be quick to ask forgiveness from those we offend and to be ready 70x7 times to forgive those who offended us. Again  he said if a person slaps us on one chic, we should turn the second chic for more, and if he takes our shirt, we should add our tunic. And after all these, we should still  be ready to forgive the offender 70x7 times. 

35 New King James Version (NKJV) “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

At this. Point it does not matter what the person has done, ours is just to forgive for the Lord Jesus himself has assumed the responsibility to administer a fair retribution to the offenders through His Merry. That is seeking vengeance, retribution or Justice should no longer be your concern  for “all vengeance is mine” says the Lord 

brethren take the yoke or the burden of seeking justice off yourself and surrender totally to that beautiful state of Forgiveness and Love where everything is soothing and blissful without any worries.
