New Collaboration: C'River State Local Govt Services Commission Meets with Civil Service Commission

The newly appointed commissioners from the Local Government Services Commission of Cross River State paid a courtesy visit to Sir Maurice Effiwat, Chairman of the Civil Service Commission. The meeting took place at the New Secretariat Complex on Murtala Muhammed Highway in Calabar.

The delegation was led by Mr Darlington Eyo, Chairman of the Local Government Services Commission, and included key members such as Dr. Carol Edem (Commissioner 1), Hon. Inyang Nying (Commissioner 2), Henry Ojong Edward (Commissioner 3), Wokeyim Otu (Commissioner 5), and Hon. Alina Bridget (Commissioner 6). Commissioner 4, Mr. Daniel Ochui, was unable to attend due to prior travel commitments.

During the meeting, Mr. Darlington Eyo underscored the importance of fostering a strong partnership between the Local Government Services Commission and the Civil Service Commission. He stressed that such collaboration is essential for improving operational efficiency and ensuring effective service delivery throughout the state. The partnership aims to streamline processes, minimize redundancies, and promote a more integrated approach to governance and administration.

Sir Maurice Effiwat welcomed the new commissioners and recognized their crucial roles in furthering the goals of the Local Government Services Commission. He expressed his commitment to collaborating with the commissioners to achieve common objectives and drive significant advancements within the state's civil service. Dr. Effiwat also thanked His Excellency, the People's First Governor, for appointing a team of experienced and dedicated individuals to lead the Local Govt Services Commission.

This meeting marked a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the two commissions, laying the groundwork for future cooperation that aims to enhance governance and service delivery in Cross River State. Through this partnership, both commissions seek to address the challenges confronting the state's local governance structure and contribute to its sustainable development.
