The only thing that compares to the ethereal feeling of seeing your favorite artistes performing live is also getting to watch your favorite sports team play over an epic weekend. While you can’t exactly put a price on having a good time, the cost usually leans on the high side. If you are on a limited budget, it is important to carefully analyze the cost of tickets, accommodation, feeding, transport, drinks, amongst other things and plan accordingly. Planning on a limited budget requires making plans ahead of the music festival and sporting event. 

Get your tickets as early as possible, the earlier you apply the better the discounts. do a remote search of the cheapest hotels in the area with close proximity to the event. In rare cases where you have a music festival headlined by your favorite artistes and a big football game in the same weekend, it is crucial to book a hotel room weeks sometimes even months before the event in order to avoid paying exorbitant fees and spend within available budget. However, if given the option of camping at the festival, one has to take it. This is significantly much cheaper than renting a hotel nearby and gives a more immersive festival experience. Also taking a cab or taxi from the hotel to the festival is also additional cost which might cause a strain on the budget. 

Sharing travel costs with other festival goers from the same college can help keep spending with the budget limit. Going on a carpool with a group of friends where you get to share the cost of fuel, parking and tollways is a fun way to make new adventures and ultimately alleviate transportation costs.  

Another way to ensure spending within a limited budget is to save cash on festival tickets by volunteering to work at the event. Many festivals need volunteers to scan tickets, clean up between sets or sell merchandise. This helps save ticket costs and offers closer insights into acts before and after their performances, making it the experience even more unique.
