Born into this world, a precious soul awakens,

Growing steadily with each passing day, a journey unshaken,

Through laughter and tears, a spirit so bright,

As you blossom into a woman with destiny untold,

May your spirit soar, courageous and bold.

For despite the challenges faced on this earthly way,

In a society that sometimes fails to see,

To the mothers, the single mothers, and aunties so dear,

To the mighty ones holding positions of authority, without fear, to the girls who are still growing into full fleshed women who will take over the World power in years to come,

Oh virtuous women, shining bright in the crowd;

Through your strength and wisdom, you've conquered the wild, you've become a force to be reckoned with and the for the Girl Child to look up to. 

Today we celebrate you, holding you high,

May your light continue to shine, reaching the sky.
