WHAT IS RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY?

-Recreation” comes from the Latin word, “recreare” which means “to refresh, restore, make anew, revive, invigorate.” This is much different from mere fun or leisure activities.

1. Hiking
-is the activity of taking long, vigorous walks in nature for fun.

2. Cycling
- is a healthy, low-impact exercise that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from young children to older adults. It is also fun, cheap and good for the environment.

3. Reading
- Studies have shown that reading for pleasure is an effective way to manage stress by increasing enjoyment and relaxation. It's good for your brain and cognitive development. Recreational reading also can have benefits for your concentration, vocabulary, reading and writing skills, and improving working memory.

4. Gardening 
- Gradening may be a fun and relaxing way to get in touch with nature, but did you know that it also has plenty of health benefits? Gardening is an activity that's good for both the mind and body, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Plus, you get to eat the delicious fruits, vegetables and herbs that you grow.

5. Camping
- is an outdoor activity that involves staying the night/more than one night in a protective shelter out in nature. Camping is a broad term but in its essence, camping is a way of getting away from the hassle of urban life, to a more natural environment for a limited time.

BENEFITS OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

- Recreational activity has numerous benefits. It can contribute to physical health by reducing symptoms, promoting weight reduction, and improving cardiovascular health . It also supports broader recovery goals, including social inclusion .
