C'RIVER  MINISTRY OF TOURISM, ART & CULTURE IS CARNIVAL  FIESTA READY

Building up for 2023 Carnival Calabar Festival, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts And Culture recently showcased series of events such as the reopening of the Marina Resort, and Command Performance.

The reopening of Marina Resort as part of the activities, featured the cutting of tape by the Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, Speaker, Cross River State House Of Assembly who represented His Excellency the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu

. In attendance were Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Chief Ewa Robert Abubakar, Honourable Commissioner For Tourism, Arts And Culture, Mr Ekpenyong Ojoi, Managing Director Tourism and many other dignitaries and stakeholders in the Tourism sector. The high point of the reopening was a tour of the facilities of the Marina resort.

Addressing the press, the Honourable Commissioner For Tourism, Arts And Culture, Chief Ewa Robert Abubakar stated that the reopening of the resort is significant as the centre actually holds the history of Cross River State in terms of slave trade. He reiterated that the reopened Resort will create additional activities in the Calabar metropolis to attract tourist and investors to boost our economy.

The event tagged "Command Performance" which held in the Main Bowl, Cultural Center, Calabar had the theme: "Renewed Hope For Unity and Prosperity"

Chief Ewa who represented his Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Otu in the event, stated that the activities in the Command performance were organised to showcase the cultural heritage of the great people of Cross River State. This he said is in line with the Governor's vision and People's first mantra.

He described the activities as a display of love and unity, adding  that the Tourism Ministry is set to expand their vistas with lots of festivals and new tourist sites.

The event featured songs, dance drama, Cultural dance and choreography by the artists in the center.
