Earlier this year, the 11 years old God'smind Nelson Eteng

on January 15th, achieved a remarkable victory at the Gold Under-12 World School Athletic Trials in Ogun State, clocking an impressive time of (64 seconds.).

She continued to shine at the National Youth Games in Asaba, securing a silver medal in the 1500m event for team Cross River State . Today, she's set to compete in the 800m race. She’s also a prospect for the national team.

The inaugural National Youth Games took place in 2013 at the main bowl of the National Stadium in Abuja. This noteworthy event was inaugurated by Vice President Namadi Sambo, with Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, representing him.

The inaugural edition saw the participation of more than 4,000 athletes representing various states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory. The primary objectives of this festival were to identify and nurture young talents within Nigeria while promoting unity and solidarity among the different states.
