In the depths of despair, where shadows loom,

There's a woman, broken, her spirit consumed,

With the passing of her love, her beloved spouse,

She's left with sorrow, her heart an empty house.

Her husband's kin, they betray her trust,

Taking all she owns, leaving debts to adjust,

Left with nothing but shattered dreams and pain,

Her possessions taken, her hope nearly slain.

Alongside her daughter, just ten years old,

They're cast to the streets, where the harsh winds are cold,

A heavy burden rests upon her fragile frame,

Yearning for her husband, his guiding flame.

In the darkest nights, she prays for him near,

Wishing his presence would dry every tear,

For he was her rock, her shelter, her guide,

In his absence, she struggles, in turmoil she resides.

Yet, within her soul, there's a spark that remains,

A flicker of strength, a fire that sustains,

With courage as her armor, she faces each day,

Determined to find a new path, come what may.

Embarking on a journey she never foresaw,

Commercial sex work becomes her life's draw,

In the face of judgment and society's scorn,

She endures it all, carrying her daughter, forlorn.

Through the long nights, she dances and smiles,

Hiding her pain behind brave, graceful wiles,

With every touch, a facade she must wear,

Her true self hidden, consumed by despair.

But deep in her heart, a love fierce and true,

For her daughter, her constant, through and through,

She strives for a future, one free from strife,

A world where her daughter can dream and thrive.

Though her steps are heavy, burdened with grief,

She holds onto hope, finding solace in belief,

That one day, their struggles will fade into the past,

And they'll find peace and happiness at last.

Her spirit unyielding, her determination's light,

May empathy guide us, to lend a helping hand,

To support those in need, and help them withstand.

For within their stories, resilience takes flight,

In the face of hardship, their strength shines bright,

And together we can build a world that is just,

Where compassion triumphs, and no one's left to dust.
