The Cross River State  Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Agnes Atsu has welcomed members from Hope of Glory Football Club lauding their visit as timely, at her office in Calabar.

The Commissioner reiterated her commitment to prioritizing sports development in the state and, by extension, the entire country, as this underscores their dedication to sports' growth and the nurturing of young talent.

She hinted that her vision is akin to the state governor's ambitions  to re-brand football in the State, stressing that football is unrivaled "king of sports" signifying an ambition to elevate the sport to new heights and make it a beacon of sporting excellence.

The founder of Hope of Glory Football Club, Bishop Joshua Umoh, and spokesperson Dr. Genevieve Ephraim said Hope of Glory Football Club is a stalwart in the local football scene, embarking on a significant visit to the Commissioner for Sports in Cross River State, with the purpose to forge a synergy that focuses on the grassroots sports development. 

Genevieve hinted that Hope of Glory Football Club's decade-long journey is a testament to their unwavering commitment to the sport, as their presence in the local football landscape has not only been enduring but also transformative, inspiring countless aspiring athletes in Cross River State. 

During the meeting, the Director Sports, Moses Agbor, Sports Development Consultant, Sports Commission, Dr. Macfarlane Ejah, Head of grassroots development, Mrs Rosemary Usang said Glory Football Club articulated the positive societal impacts of their proposed project, as this potential will reduce youth unemployment, poised to generate income components for sports through avenues associated with sporting events.
