Students nowadays focus more on using social media platforms, keeping up with trends, and wasting time playing online games; in short, they do nothing at all for their own development. And then ranting about having low grades when, in fact, their grades are a reflection of their own actions. So, as a student with quality experiences, here are some of my tips on how to do great at school.

First and foremost, as a student, you must prepare your school supplies, and most importantly, prepare yourself. The first day of classes is often all about self-introductions, so if you want to impress your teachers and your classmates, you should practice before hand. Your self-introduction includes your name, address, and hobbies. You can also add some spice so you can catch the attention of your classmates. In addition, the introduction part is not always on the first day; you will still use introductions even in reports or presentations. So, what is the importance of the introduction? Here's the answer based on my personal experiences: As a student, I often prepare introductions, even in my reports or presentations, because that would make me look like I studied my entire report, and that will impress the teachers as well, because they will look at you as a good student. In addition, if you use an introduction in your reports, your classmates will surely listen to you throughout the discussion.

I still remember how unorganized I was way back in junior high school, and trust me, you don't want that. Unorganized students are mostly lazy because they don't have planners and don't know what to do next. So, if you want to be an academic achiever, you need to be organized. Here's how! First, you need a planner. A planner is like a notebook that contains a to-do list, a checklist, and a calendar. By using a planner, you can now organize your schoolwork appropriately. You can add schoolwork that needs to be accomplished urgently to your to-do list." You can group your checklist for less hassle, right? As for me, I only use old notebooks to organize my schoolwork.

Since you already have a planner, practice being on time. Some of the teachers automatically deduct your points once you pass your project late. And luckily, I haven't experienced being late because I organized the things I needed to accomplish on time.

Advance studying would be to your advantage, especially if you have competitive classmates. The benefit of studying in advance is knowing what the next topic or discussion will be. You'll have background on a specific topic, and you will learn beforehand. One more thing: some of the teachers (based on what I've read) like surprise quizzes, so practice studying in advance.

Other than that, choose your friends wisely.

Why choose your friends wisely? High school is a long, rough road journey; you will experience things you didn't think you would experience. High school may be the most blissful part of your teenage years, but always keep in mind to choose your friends wisely. There are two types of friends in high school; this is based on my observations. The first type is called the troublemaker circle of friends. This kind of friend is common for new students, and since they're transferees, they tend to be friends with famous troublemakers. The latter group is called Goody Smart Friends. These types of friends are smart enough to avoid trouble and focus more on academics, known as the nerd. Well, mind you, I am one of them. However, in my personal opinion, people like them aren't nerds; they're "good students.

Be productive and active by joining clubs and organizations. These may be another responsibility for you, but I can assure you that joining clubs and organizations is worth it. At first, I was not into joining organizations and clubs because I wanted to focus on grades; however, one of my favorite public speakers on TikTok influenced me to join organizations and clubs. She explained that those clubs and organizations will contribute to enhancing my public speaking, my stage fright, and my self-confidence. Did it help? Yes, that's why I am persuading you to join clubs and organizations.

Always keep in mind that in everything you do, give your best. If you don't want to regret something and end up being like me, do your best. However, bear in mind that doing your best doesn't mean that you need to perfect each quiz and that you don't deserve to rest until you finish your task. Doing your best doesn't mean you need to stay awake at night cramming for your exams. Because that's what I believed for almost 3 years, so do your best and take care of yourself.

To conclude, as a good student, you need to prepare, to organize, to be on time, to study in advance, to choose your friends wisely, to join clubs and organizations, and to do your best.
