The Ark of Covenant
The Ark of the Covenant is a gold-plated wooden chest that, according to the Hebrew Bible, contained the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, a pot of manna, and Aaron's rod. It was a sacred object of the Israelites, and was kept in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle and the Temple of Jerusalem. The Ark was described in the Book of Exodus as being made of acacia wood, 2.5 cubits long, 1.5 cubits wide, and 1.5 cubits high. It was overlaid with gold inside and out, and had a gold molding a
