Baskadia

Introduction.

This is a short story written by Abdullatif Khalid eberhard. It's set in a fictional village called kyamakungu in kasese district of South Western Uganda. Therefore, some local names though fiction are in relation to the words in our area of setting.

It tells us the story of two country side young Latif and Penie who vows yo love each other for life despite the fact that all the youth in that village has fallen hair (loose morals). Their parents tries to act like a devil in a crowd of saints( tries to separate them) but all in vain. These two lovers finally promises each other to be burried together if not nearer to each other for their belief that loving souls shall meet in the valleys of skulls after death.

The fresh sea wind grabbed her hair and bundled it into a seagrass knot. Standing on the upwind side of the rock one could almost forget that it was a female creature! She was so gorgeous that non doubted the fact that she was created but not born! She looked like a heavenly maiden waiting for all virgin girls who joins the valleys of skulls after death. Yes! Indeed she was a virgin. For they meant it when they said it, they wrote it onto their hearts that oozes love affection all the time! Moments of revashing presence drew nearer to them like a fanatic christian who goes to the table for a holy matrimony with a dealdy vagrancy. The day they met they begun to rove.They were both whirling ,walking and talking together for hours and no one left the other to in agony. Time brought the tides oh separation and non of them was prepared for this temptation that burnt their feelings of the love they wove in seconds. For they ascertained that they may not see each other the day of love and they bothered not so just let themselves to shove to the essence the unebjured love. Neither they rejoiced nor they accepted and all they rembered was the melancholy of the tides of separation that left them restless to shove!

It was to two young fanatic lovers Latif and Pennie whose love had gone beyond the love between Being and His angels! Their village Kyamakungu had youth with fallen hair(loose morals) accept the two who were refered to by their fellow agemates as "Sampere" which meant an old fashioned person. The rest were nonetitities but just cantankerous youth and devoid of any value to their parents. It was inflicted by high rate of fornication of no cause that would be done in open veranders like the market vendors trying to get shade in a rainy season.

Who would be the role model and to whom?
