Surrounded by so many, yet life feels like a vacuum and it's so airtight

Doubling the Plight

I gaze into the darkness every single night

And I feel as though I'm watching a film on my own life and yet my name means Light.

I've tried to shield my circle with all my might

I've fought battles that weren't for me, but in this one,I've lost the will to fight.

So many scars remain hidden, worsening and doubling the plight.

The colours haven't completely faded, but all that's left is black and white

I would go back in time to amend the past, but with what right?

The crowds are in awe, watching it soar to the greatest height

But they seem to ignore the thread as though it's out of sight.

And they notice when it snaps, because then it drops the kite.

I've kept a lot in my treasure chest and decorated it with a huge fairy light. 

It's bulging, and they think it's filled with silver and gold

Little do they know, most it's contents are stale, a gazillion tales to be told.
