Elongation technique
The elongation technique refers to a method used in molecular biology to amplify a specific DNA sequence. It is a type of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) that is commonly used in research laboratories for a variety of applications such as cloning, sequencing, and gene expression analysis. The elongation step in PCR refers to the phase of the reaction in which the DNA polymerase enzyme extends the primers that were annealed to the template DNA during the previous annealing step.
