 Bangladesh is our motherland, the land of eternal green.  Sundarbans is the largest natural mangrove forest in the world.  The magnificent array of vegetation and the diverse collection of wild animals present the Sundarbans as a unique natural phenomenon.  Due to tides, the soil here is more affected by waterlogging and salinity.  The flora of the Sundarbans is also diverse. About 50 species of reptiles are seen.  Poisonous snakes are also seen in Sundarbans.  Sundarbans is not only natural beauty but also plays a huge role in economy.  Sundarbans trees are used for building timber structures, as fuel and for charcoal production.  Gale leaves are used to make house rice and fence.  In the Sundarbans, the Mouals make a living by collecting honey.  Large populations survive only in the Sundarbans.  We have to preserve this forest for our own survival.
