THE PERSUIT OF EXCELLENCE

 I want to be excellence, but every time I stall,

I wake up with new hope, but I keep dropping the ball.

Day after day, I repeat the same old refrain,

When will I finally become excellence, the prize I wish to gain?

This struggle is my everyday challenge, an uphill climb,

As I seek to be the best, to rise and shine.

I want to leave my mark and make my name,

To be the one who stands out from the game

 But still, I falter, I hesitate, I doubt,

Hoping this time, I'll find the strength to win.

So I'll keep on trying, I'll keep on pressing on,

With each new day, a chance to right the wrong.

And someday, I know, I'll reach the excellence I seek,

For with persistence and hard work, the future's bright and not bleak.
