This is a secretive cloth weared in traditional..cultural gathering eg it can be weared by the Bride in marriage cultual ceremonies here in the country of Papua New Guinea. The tapa cloth is made and design from the bark of a special tree here in the Province of Northern here in Papua New Guinea. The bark of the tree is not found in any Part of the world but is only found here in Papua New Guinea

During big traditional ceremonies the tapa identifies a special conmectoin with nature. The respect that is given by the people of Popondetta is respected also from other Provinces of Papua New Guinea. Furthermore it a secret belief also that it brings fortunes as it is also sold to tourist who visit that part of the world, it still maintains its identity today making it one of the unique cloth that is kept safe through the source "the tapa tree
