「旧帝・国立大学医学部」受験対策講座（３）

  受験に失敗する人には共通点があります。それは、探求心の欠如とでもいうもの。たとえば、旧帝や国立大学医学部の入試問題は年度による変動はありますが「ボーダーは６５％。合格者の平均でも得点獲得率が７割程度」という事実があります。

　それなのに、満点を取ろうとする人がいます。確実に落ちます。合格するためには数学が５問出題されたら「３問は確実に解き、１問は手をつける」のが正しい合格の仕方です。理Ⅲや京大医学部のトップ合格でも８割が限界であるように問題が作られています。

　それを勘違いして「解かなくてもいい問題」ばかりにこだわる人が多い。確実に落ちます。そういう間違った作戦を立てて質問してくる生徒には

「もっと基本的な問題を確実に解けるようにした方がいい」

　と思うのですが、どうしてもこだわる。難問を解くのが難関大に合格する鍵だと勘違いしているのです。

　私が京大の成績開示を見せたら（英語８割、数学７割の正解率）

「講師のくせに英語は２割、数学は３割も間違えて信用できん！」

　と言った人がいました。何も分かっていません。

  People who fail to take exams have one thing in common. It is what we might call a lack of inquisitiveness. For example, the entrance examinations for medical schools of former imperial and national universities vary from year to year, but "the borderline is 65%, and the average score of successful applicants is around 70%. The average percentage of successful applicants is around 70%.

　Yet, there are people who try to get a perfect score. They will fail for sure. The correct way to pass the exam is to "make sure to solve 3 questions and to leave 1 question untouched" when there are 5 math questions. The questions are designed in such a way that 80% is the limit even for the top students of Science III and Kyoto University's Faculty of Medicine.

　Many people misunderstand this and stick to only "problems that don't need to be solved. They will fail for sure. For students who ask me questions with such wrong strategies, I say to them

"You should make sure you can solve more basic problems.
　but they insist on it. They mistakenly think that solving difficult problems is the key to passing a difficult university.

　When I showed him my Kyoto University grade disclosure (80% correct in English, 70% correct in math).　Someone said, "You are a lecturer, but you got 20% wrong in English and 30% wrong in math!

　 I am sure he will fail because he doesn't understand anything.
