Dangerous Friends

A good heart that has chosen to do good will find it's purpose. No matter the obstacle and delays, truth always wins. It may take time. At the point of waiting, you will be on the journey alone by yourself. There might not be a shoulder to even  cry on because you have chosen that path which majority find difficult to walk on. The hardest road to walk is the path of righteousness, the path of truth. As a child we never had the opportunity to figure out who our true friends are. We all play, have fun with little or nothing to worry about. Our parents pay the bills, we have less concerns as kids. But as the numbers get bigger, gradually we start to discover who we are, we start to choose the people we want to spend time with to be happy and also pave way to our dreams and aspirations.

 You either pick your friends from sports, probably you enjoy watching and playing sports so you fit in, with like-minded kids. Senegal has just beaten Egypt by penalties in the African cup of nations. It was the show of two Liverpool attackers Mo Salah and  sadio mani. You just want to discuss how it all went, over and over again before the next premiership games. You also want to go to the field and play it like it was played. You even play some video games, just to keep the feeling of the games going. Some find their school friends more interesting, so they stick to the one at school. You discuss about studies and other events, you only have little time to play, but it's all the fun you needed at that moment. 

However, when you reach a certain age. Things begin to change. You begin to develop emotions, I mean feelings. That is when you begin to know who your true friends are. If you open your eyes, you will begin to realise that it is not everyone that call themselves "friends" that are true friends. Some friends are your friend only because you are doing well and they can always benefit from you. They will always tell you what you want to hear instead of the truth so as not to offend you and stop giving them attention. This kind of friends are camelions. They can switch to any skin colours they want, just to get what they want. When you succeed, they will be the first to congratulate you and spread the news of your success. Not that it pleased their souls to see you succeed, but because they envy you and your way of doing things, they wish, they have what you have. So they will always ask you questions about how you succeed, instead of focusing on their lives, they tend to be paying more attentions to yours, asking you questions in order to know the areas where they want to knock you down and watch you suffer. 

Whatever you did to succeed, they want to try it too and probably do it better than you. Because they think they can always do better than you. They believe you have what you have because you always get the opportunity first before them. There are many friends who only want to take advantage of you to get what they want. There are also friends who don't want You to succeed except they succeed before you do. There are friends who just want to put you beneath their feet. Do not be deceived by dangerous friends. In all of this, there are good friends. Do not forget that those who want to see you succeed will always help you win. In my next episode I will be talking about real friends.
