The name Ho Guom, or Hoan Kiem Lake, is based on the legend of Le Loi returning the precious sword to the Golden Turtle God after defeating foreign invaders. Hoan Kiem Lake is located between the old quarter including Hang Ngang, Hang Dao, Cau Go, Luong Van Can, Lo Su streets... with the Western quarter planned by the French more than a century ago including Bao Khanh, Nha Tho, Trang Thi, Hang Bai, Dinh Tien Hoang, Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Ba Trieu.
