Hide your Food

Bang! Bang! Bang! That annoying sound that tells you there has been a breach of your ultimate privacy. "Ta ni yen?" "It is me o, Tomi, Tomiwa" "Ohhhhh, that glutton is here again!", Jide muttered to himself as he opened the door. "Howfar, my guy?" "Bro, are you making Jollof rice? I could perceive the aroma from the gate. You dey enjoy o." Tomiwa said as he walked to the reading table and chair and sat down. This was his usual antic! He'd show up unannounced when the food was almost ready. It wa

ISLAND

ISLAND. Excortion to an island all face to the sea, No ship for all but canoe for each, No help to paddle all to paddle for self, Parents to sponsor no follow to travel, Teacher to tutor not tutor to travel, Sea our classroom we paddle by ourselves. Class of sea as everyone paddling, Different name for different canoe, Same direction but going like fingers, Same dream with different effort, One knowledge but some dull to paddle, First the target but one for the target. Many behind playing and paddling, Mate's forward they paddle and play, Study as paddling drop paddle for tide, Hope on tide the tide at test, Pray for tide drop paddle for tide, Tide to against and sink they fail. Island we reach not reach by all, Many regret journey and again they see, Few at back the failures to repeat, Excortion again another again to paddle, Island with a name they call it SUCCESS.

Story of how Nigeria was sold for £856,000 by the British

15, 2021 5:54 PM In the early 1800s, the region now known as Lagos was a major port for slave trade. However, there was mounting pressure on the British from missionary groups to stop it. There was also a spike in the demand for palm oil at the time as a machine lubricant following the industrial revolution. This meant that the British began battling other European powers to end slave trade. The British wanted monopoly access to the palm oil and other industrial raw materials from the Niger Delta region. However, slaves continued to be exported to the Carribbean Islands and America by the Europeans. This caused a growing shortage of labour on the mainland which hampered agricultural productivity. Britain therefore passed anti-slavery navy squadron. The navy squadron began intercepting slave ships and returning captives to shore. Despite the efforts by the British to end slave trade, it continued to grow. It was simply too lucrative for the local rulers and the Portuguese slaves.

Why Nigerian youths travel abroad and will do all in their power to travel.

Unemployment and Underemployment: The Nigerian job market often struggles to absorb the large number of graduates and job seekers, resulting in high unemployment rates. Even those who manage to find work may be underemployed, working in jobs that do not match their qualifications. Youth Bulge: Nigeria has one of the largest youth populations globally. While this demographic can be a potential asset, it also means increased competition for limited opportunities, exacerbating unemployment issues.
