Review: Of Pandas and People is a wonderful addition to the origin of life debate. The harsh comments presented in these reviews amount to nothing less than tired hate speech. By contrast, the authors of this book have used their talents to explain the satisfyingly beautiful concept of Intelligent Design. Using molecular biology, mathematical probability and plain old common sense, the pseudoscience of macroevolution has been dismantled. Please get a copy and judge this for yourself. If you've been convinced by the logic of the arguments presented in this book, then work to promote the teaching of Intelligent Design alongside Darwinian evolution within the classroom. Let the students evaluate the evidence for themselves and then watch as a new generation rises up and cries foul to the lies they've been told by the controllers of education. The truth truly does set you free...

Review: After hearing about this book, I had to read it for myself. So when I saw a penny copy ($4.00 with shipping) on amazon, I bought it. There is so very, very much wrong with this drivel that masquerades as science that it is difficult to know where to start, and equally difficult to know where to stop. Since there are so many other informative reviews here, I will address only one issue discussed in this book: the alleged lack of "transitional" species in the fossil record (and in extant life for that matter).These authors do not seem to understand that ALL species are transitional because evolution is a continuous ongoing process; each species is not some kind of endpoint - rather they are snapshots of this process. The authors' misunderstanding of this point is evident from their diagrams of "presumed fossil sequences", their discussions of archaeopteryx, the australopithecines, and so forth all throughout the book. (They also seem unable to understand that because fossilization can only occur under suitable conditions, the fossil record is necessarily incomplete.)Based on their approach, I am convinced that given ANY two species imaginable, these authors would claim a missing link between them, in much the same way that given ANY two real numbers, I can always name another ("missing") number between them.It is a crime to call the stuff in this book science.

Review: If this book ever finds its way into our High Schools, I feel sorry for the teachers.The authors simply do not know what they are talking about, and serious errors abound. For instance, they completely misinterpret the results of molecular phylogeny, because they do not understand that a modern fish and a modern man are equally remote in time from their last common ancestor. This leads them to conclude that the data favor separate creation rather than common descent, whereas the exact reverse is true.This book was written to support the claim that Intelligent Design theory should be considered as a scientific alternative to evolution and common descent. But the theory itself is never clearly stated. In particular, there is no explanation of how the design comes to be incorporated into actual living beings. Absent such explanation, the origin of each species requires a separate and mysterious act, and Intelligent Design is just another name for Creationism.

Review: Honestly, to hear people rant about this book, you'd think it was some sort of fundamentalist tract. In reality, it is a very mild-mannered book indeed - so mild, in fact, that it is rather boring.A few of the claims of the book are rather embarrassingly bad (see the reviews of opposing reviewers for examples), while others are short on details, but the claims of unreadablitily, incoherence, etc., are just absurd.

Review: This book encompasses the entirety of the ID argument which has not changed since the publish date at least. I purchased my copy used and I would encourage you to do the same to prevent the publishers and authors from getting any of your money.This book is absolutely useless from a scientific perspective but if you're looking for the full ID argument, look no further. This book is horribly organized and repetitive in the extreme but I think it is probably the best text on the full scope of ID and provides useful insight into the minds of ID proponents and the reasoning used to declare, with conviction, goddidit.
