Review: The SwiftUI Cookbook has been a huge help in bridging my existing knowledge of UIKit to SwiftUI. The topics were clearly listed and explained. There were a few areas that seemed to be slightly more advanced but the book moves at a decent pace and offers enough information to make an educated Google search.
A few things I noticed that would greatly enhance the experience of this book for me would be the quality of the screenshots and maybe some added color to the markdown code snippets. The images used for the screenshots of the app has a distracting grey background that could have been more enhanced using the screenshot functions built into the Xcode simulator 👌🏾

Overall I’m enjoying the Tips and Tricks that are also shared closer to the end of the book! Pure gold!

Review: This book contains all of the newest information about SwiftUI, and let me tell you, it doesn't spare any details! First things first, this is not an introduction to Swift; it assumes an understanding in all of the basics of Swift (functions, structures, closures etc.). That aside, the structure is similar to that of... well a cookbook, and it certainly delivers all of its "recipes" with clarity and concision. Every recipe begins with a step by step walkthrough to set up the project (it includes a photo of what the finished project should look like), follows with an explanation of how the program works, and finishes with additional knowledge about the recipe. I especially appreciated the deeper explanation at the end as I always gleaned a bit more knowledge! Furthermore, I really liked the writing style because it felt like someone was actually teaching, not just clinical verbiage that obfuscated understanding.

There were a few code blocks where the lines didn't have the proper indentation, but they were few and far between. Other than that, I have only praise to give—I will surely keep it nearby whenever I am using SwiftUI!

Review: I am extremely fortunate to have stumbled across the SwiftUI Cookbook. The authors do an amazing job of explaining the complex subject that is SwiftUI. They introduce the topic, display code blocks with explanations of what they will do, and then they do a full run through of the main points so that you have a complete understanding of how to implement the topic.

I would have liked more pictures of what is happening on the app when we are working through the steps of each topic, but they provide the code and I can upload it into xcode to see what is happening that way.

I am currently programming my first app, and I am already using what I am learning by reading the SwiftUI Cookbook. The best part about this book is that they reference the apple developer website at the end of every topic. I have had a difficult time understanding the explanations on the apple developer website, but the SwiftUI Cookbook does a great job of clarifying the information provided there.

Review: The is a compressive book on SwifUI and provides clear examples that are well done. This book is to further your skills, but it assumes you understand and have basic programing knowledge and Swift knowledge. I found all the nice detail and deeper explanation a very good change of pace compared to most books. For those of you new to “cookbook” it’s a template of written code like a recipe hence the name cookbook. If you follow the steps in the book, you will get a really good idea on how to modify the code into something you will need in the future. As a matter of fact this book has answered questions for me on how to accomplish tasks.

The only gripe I have is I had to run a clean build folder at one point but that means nothing in the long run because all code sometime requires this once in a while. But this is not worthy of a rating demotion.
