HRM Miss Politics Nigerian Queen Meets CRS Social Welfare Commissioner Ahead of PVC

In a significant step toward advancing youth participation, female empowerment, and social development, the reigning HRM Miss Politics Nigerian Queen has paid an official courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Social Welfare and Community Development, Bishop Prof. Amb. Margaret Ene-Ita, at her office in Calabar, Cross River State.
The strategic engagement comes ahead of the Queen's highly anticipated Advocacy Drive and Pet Project, tagged “Operation Get Your PVC and Pad-A-Girl-Child,” scheduled to be launched in Calabar. The initiative is designed to promote civic responsibility among young people while addressing critical issues affecting adolescent girls and vulnerable women within local communities.
The visit served as an avenue to strengthen collaboration between the Queen's office and the Ministry of Social Welfare and Community Development, with discussions focusing on creating sustainable partnerships capable of delivering meaningful social impact across Cross River State.
During the meeting, the HRM Miss Politics Nigerian Queen highlighted the vision behind her advocacy campaign, emphasizing the importance of encouraging eligible youths to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as a means of increasing civic engagement and democratic participation. She also stressed the need to tackle menstrual poverty through the distribution of sanitary pads and awareness programs aimed at supporting and empowering the girl-child.
According to the Queen, the initiative seeks to complement the state's existing social intervention programs by addressing pressing grassroots challenges while promoting inclusion, dignity, and opportunities for vulnerable populations.
She expressed profound appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for her unwavering commitment to social welfare and community development, describing her leadership as a source of inspiration to young women aspiring to make meaningful contributions to society.
In her remarks, Bishop Prof. Amb. Margaret Ene-Ita commended the Queen for utilizing her platform to champion causes that directly impact communities and improve lives. She noted that beyond the glamour associated with pageantry, true leadership is demonstrated through service, advocacy, and a commitment to societal transformation.
The Commissioner further reiterated that the administration of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, remains firmly committed to its People First agenda, which prioritizes human capital development, social inclusion, poverty reduction, and community empowerment.
She assured the Queen of the Ministry's readiness to support initiatives that align with the government's vision for sustainable development and improved welfare outcomes across the state.
"Our doors remain open to visionary young leaders and development advocates who are committed to adding value to the lives of our people. Social welfare is a collective responsibility, and we welcome partnerships that promote inclusive growth and ensure that no one is left behind," the Commissioner stated.
The successful meeting marks the beginning of what is expected to be a productive collaboration aimed at fostering civic consciousness, empowering young women, and improving the welfare of vulnerable groups throughout Cross River State.
With preparations now in top gear, stakeholders and residents alike are looking forward to the official rollout of the “Operation Get Your PVC and Pad-A-Girl-Child” campaign, which promises to deliver lasting impact and meaningful change within communities across the state.
