He didn't do it alone, this American man of old,

he had a wife he both loved and admired,

who took up the slack when he became tired.

He had children too, whom he had sired,

who caused him to be, as proud as a man could,

their love and respect for him never tired.

And together, this American family brought forth upon this land, a country as great as any could ever be.

But what has become of such a great land?

What ever happened to the America, that used to be.

And what America, will your future be?

Will you just slide, passively into obscurity,

as your people sit on the couch, passively watching it all on TV?
