TOP ATHLETES JOIN NIGER DELTA FESTIVAL TO INSPIRE NEXT GENERATION

Kanu, Ikpeba, Amuneke and Others joined NDSF 2025
Nigerian football legends Nwankwo Kanu, Victor Ikpeba, and Blessing Oborodudu, alongside other renowned athletes, have been appointed as Festival Ambassadors for the inaugural Niger Delta Sports Festival (NDSF), scheduled to take place from April 1-8 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
This announcement marks a significant milestone in the realization of the NDSF's vision, spearheaded by Dunamis Icon, the consultancy firm partnered with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the event.
Itiako Ikpokpo, the lead consultant at Dunamis Icon, highlighted that the chosen ambassadors were selected based on their ability to inspire the next generation of athletes. "We carefully reviewed accomplished sports figures from the nine NDDC mandate states who can serve as role models for young athletes, both in their athletic careers and personal lives," Ikpokpo explained to NDSF Media.
Alongside Kanu, Ikpeba, and Oborodudu, the other ambassadors include Efionwan Ekpo, Tamunosiki Atorudibo, Patience Igbiti, Emmanuel Amuneke, Enefiok Udo-Obong, and Seun Ogunkoya. The ambassadors were chosen from various sports disciplines, ensuring diversity in gender and representation.
"This selection is deliberate," Ikpokpo added, "to show young athletes that greatness is achievable in any sport, regardless of gender."
The festival organizers are set to officially unveil the ambassadors on March 7, 2025, in Owerri, Imo State.
