"A Heart in Shadows"
In twilight's hush, where shadows play
A sorrow creeps, and won't stray
It whispers low, a mournful sigh
As tears fall slow, and darkness replies
My heart, a flame, that flickers dim
A light that's lost, in sorrow's whim
The stars above, a distant hum
A reminder of a love that's gone
In this dark night, I search for peace
A respite from grief's relentless release
But like a ghost, it haunts me still
A melancholy chill, that grips and chills
So let the shadows wrap me tight
And let the silence be my night
For in the darkness, I'll find a place
To hide my heart, and veil my face.
This poem explores the theme of sadness and grief, using imagery and metaphor to convey the emotional pain and longing that often accompany loss.
