Baldi's Basics was the first and only public release of the horror-themed educational game. This game is not what it seems to be.
A 2018 comedy survival horror game called Fundamentals of Education and Learning by Baldi was made by American indie creator Micah McGonigal. It is also known as Baldi's Basics and Baldi's Basics Classic. The game makes fun of educational video games from the 1990s by using bad graphics and ideas like those in Sonic's Schoolhouse, IM Meen, and 3D Dinosaur Adventure. The first version of Baldi's Basics for Microsoft Windows and macOS came out on March 31, 2018, as a test. Baldi's Basics Plus, the full version of the game with all of its main features and extra ones, became available for early access on June 12, 2020.
A friend of the main character lost seven papers at the nearby school. He was too late to go get them because he was "rehearsing," so he had to ask the main character to go get them. The player meets a teacher named Baldi when he first gets there. Every time he finds a paper, Baldi will give the player three simple math problems. A prize will be given to the player if he passes all of these tests. Baldi is also a very angry character. If the player gives the teacher a problem to solve and gives the wrong answer, the instructor will start chasing them. The main character has to keep looking for every other paper while avoiding other students and a lot of obstacles. If the player gives wrong answers to all of the questions, they will have to go through a different ending with a skewed version of Baldi and a secret character who makes them destroy the game before it ends on its own.
