In Twenty Affordable Sail-boats to Take You Anywhere you will find in-depth reviews of twenty affordable,comfortable,and seaworthy sailboats.These boats range in size from 30-38 feet,an ideal size for the cruising couple,yet big enough to accommodate an occasional cruising hitchhiker or two.All of these boats were once prom-inent offerings,designed by some of the world ’s leading naval architects and produced by reputable manufacturers.These boats are still readily available in the used boat market.

The only caveat here is that, of course, this book is not comprehensive. Vigor could have included another 20 boats and perhaps another 20 after that. If you already have a good idea of what those boats are, your level of expertise may be beyond Vigor's target audience.
But for those of us in the "trying to figure all this out" stage of planning our sailing adventures, this book is absolutely top-notch. A must.

Title: Great little book

Review: I've been looking for a decent blue water fixer-upper. This book has been a great resource for looking through the wanted adds. The reviews are three to four pages each. They each have basic schematics and key ratios. If nothing else, this is a great little book for Sunday day dreaming.

Review: The book seems somewhat dated, however if you are new to sailing the discussion of the pros and con's of the various boats can be very educational. It is also a good way to review what you want to do with your boat. Do not expect to find the boats listed here on Craig's List or a dealership. It was a good purchase for me as a new sailor.

Review: I dream of sailing in retirement. While it probably won't happen on a full-time basis like I'd like I can see myself living on the coast and having a boat for weekend trips someday. This is a great book with excellent reviews of small affordable sailboats. Well worth the money I spent on it.

Title: Practical, Useful, but Out of Date

Review: Practical, useful, and well written. My copy was published around 2006. Most of the boats featured in the book are now getting very long in the tooth and it would be useful to get an updated edition. Gregg Nestor's advice is timeless but the boats are not.
