There have been demands for Joe Biden to resign following his unimpressive performance during the June 27 presidential debate against Republican nominee and former president Donald Trump.

Following the debate, a number of US citizens, political commentators, and stakeholders voiced worries about the president's health and mental state of mind.

In a Friday interview with ABC News, Biden stated that only the "Lord Almighty" could persuade him to withdraw his candidature for reelection.

"I mean, if the Almighty Lord showed up and told me to get out of the race, Joe, I would," he said. The Almighty Lord is not going to descend. These hypotheticals, that is.I am running again because I believe I have the finest understanding of what has to be done to move this country towards "I see all these stories that say I am too old. Was I too old to create 15 million jobs? Was I too old to erase student debt for five million Americans? Do you think I'm too old to beat Donald Trump?" Biden asked, brushing off criticism that he is too weak and elderly to run for president a second time. The White House had earlier stated that Biden is not withdrawing from the race despite growing concerns.
