Review: The story is about Erich and how he is pretty much forced into a gang because of a powersuit that comes into his possession. He is a significantly gifted engineer and uses his skills to make the suit live up to the gang boss's expectations.Erich comes off as an ass with his short, curt replies and his dislike of people. His social skills are pretty abysmal. It is hinted in the story that he is slowly starting to lose his empathy for people due to him being thrust into the frontlines of the gang. He also starts developing a drinking problem to deal with the stress and PTSD of his actions. I hope that this doesn't become a major issue moving on because I feel it would detract from his character and make me lose respect for him and his story.There are pretty noticable and bad editing errors in the book. Paragraphs suddenly stop and start again in the middle of a sentence, italicized words become bolded halfway through the book, and some minor punctuation errors.Overall, it was a fun read and I enjoyed my time. Looking forward to the next one.

Review: I know the title is a bit strange, but it fits my feelings towards this story. Its an interesting tale, with the main character being a deliberately hidden mystery wrapped up in just enough angst to make him believable (if annoying at times.).Its well written overall, and the proof-reading and editing were solid, so there was little to jar me with bad words or horrible grammar.Sadly, there was one huge flaw that dropped this from a solid 4 star to a shaky 3 star and that was the "I'm going to write a sequel ending." This ending is terrible. It doesn't offer closure on any of the dangling plot threads. In fact, it opens up at least 2 more that didn't exist until the final chapter. Or at least they hadn't been revealed.Now some of that could be forgiven as opening up a new plot for the sequel and to give the reader a reason to anticipate the next book. However, with the fact that the main plot wasn't satisfying, and there were a number of plot threads left dangling when the scenes with the MC finish that did not directly involve the new threads, there was just an emptiness in the ending that frustrated me (almost as much as that terrible sentence I just wrote does. :P )I do encourage people not to completely avoid this book. There are some great elements. Sadly, the ending was just off enough that I can't put this on my recommend list.

Review: A much darker book than I expected well worth the read and I agree with the others that this is another D-list supervillain type book. The protagonist is much darker instead of a wronged engineer with the heart of a hero but the actions of a merc this is more like a man with nothing left to lose and an obsession to kill those who wronged him hidden in a cloke of cowardice. I am not sure if I made any sense but it was awesome lol.

Review: Much like William D Arand's "Super Sales" series we are introduced to a world in which powered individuals exist and how the lines of hero and villain are not always so black and white. Also, much like that series we are introduced to our MC who is looking to just live his life until opportunity knocks and then his goal becomes one of making a name for himself, expect that in this story it's all about getting back at his family and their obvious disdain for his situation. I'm interested to see what happens to our boy and his two ladies when now forced to leave the city with this shadowy group and family hot on their heels.Other than the obvious grammatical errors from the annoying number of sentence breaks to either missing the appropriate world or an additional world, I just felt that some needed character development was missing.

Review: This story reminded me a lot of another anti-hero novel "Confessions of a d-list supervillan".The protaganist gave a very similar vibe, the humor was too.If you liked Conffessions than you'll definitely love this.

Review: A rather good read, and a fantastic first book. The best thing about books with anti-hero or villain-protagonists is the ability to really examine the motivations of our main characters, what makes the "evil" people tick. It is an easy slide from our "hero" screwing a drug addict Meta on a technicality of pawn shop rules, to killing in self defense with a pulse cannon, to outright assault and murderous warfare, to bloody revenge and vigilantism. It reads quite close to a memoir of a person in denial hitting rock bottom and slowly clawing their way back up. The book rather seriously takes a deep look at those parts of our self we would rather not acknowledge, or would deny we have entirely. Jason is FORCED to look at those parts, use them and deal with the consequences of this. He does things he is not proud of, and is forced to come to terms and live with it.The book ending leaves several tantalizing leads into a sequel, which I eagerly await.This book is a must read at its price, and I would indeed recommend.

Review: The premise is promising, but slightly better than mediocre in its execution. There were enough jarring grammatical errors to justify a better editor, and some of the spacing during cut aways left me wondering if the previous scene was continuing, or time had fast forwarded. I also wish that our protagonist had remained more of a nobody in origin than what the author tacked on part way through.Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and will likely be reading the second one. I hope that our author has only improved as the story continues.

Review: If you like stories about anti-heroes or even anti villains, you'll love the protagonist in this story about a simple man learning to overcome the difficulties that a normal person has with Metas (super beings) and how he can learns to stand up amongst the hardest of criminals.
