Review: I get very annoyed when I'm steered wrong by good reviews for a bad book, and this is a bad book. The whole thing just seemed utterly unrealistic to me. I don't need the books I read to be completely true to life, but I like to at least feel like it's possible that what I'm reading could actually happen. That was not the case with this story. The requirements that Noura has to meet, the way the family checks that she is meeting them, and the "training" that she had to go through to be ready for the marriage were just so unbelievable and ridiculous to me. Her assistant was also so over the top cruel that most of the time she seemed like a parody of a villian. But the most unrealistic thing was the idea that these two people could ever actually be in love with each other. Calder is so awful to Noura, and in my opinion he never redeems himself. He constantly complains about not wanting to be married, he treats her terribly, says awful things to and about her, and is extremely controlling. Then out of nowhere he suddenly decides he doesn't hate her anymore and wants to stay married. It made no sense and I wish I hadn't wasted my time on this book.

I'm actually kind of horrified by the number of good reviews. I find it really sad that people could actually think that a man treating a woman as despicably as the H treated the h in this book is in any way desirable. Also, I know this is just a personal preference thing, but the frequent use of the c word was extremely off-putting.

Review: Okay, seriously...HOW in the world can anyone give this book less than FIVE freakin' stars????? I mean, honestly, five stars are not enough. I'd been in a HUGE book slump and this book literally captured me from the very first page and did not let me go until the last. Adulting??? Forget about that! This book is better than anything going on in my life. Truly. This book is off the charts smokin’ hot and full of addictive angst and melt-your-kindle hotness. DAYUM! Banks is the PERFECT alphahole and Noura is his perfect match.

If you're looking for a book that will piss you off, break your heart, heat you up (WAAAAAAY UP), then this is the book for you! It's got an intriguing plot and characters that you love to hate and hate that you secretly root for. The erotica is part of the story (a crucial part) but it's not THE story. The story is quite beautiful, actually. Man, it's been a looooong time since I've found a book that I literally could not put down. I read until I couldn't hold my eyes open and kept reading once they reopened.

BUY this book. IGNORE any negative review. (HOW in the hell can anyone not love this book??) This is my first book by R.K. Lilley and it won't be my last. In fact, I've just bought Bad Things and am starting it now. Bottom line...
STOP reading reviews and start Arranged. (You won't be able to do anything else until you finish it though, but it's so worth it!)

Review: 4.5 stars. I loved a lot of things about this book - the cover, the characters, the storyline, the angst, the emotions and the sexy times. Noura was a standup heroine. She acknowledged everything about herself, all of the good and the bad, the part that seemed pathetic with longing and the part that understood her role in the arrangement. She never disillusioned herself, but somewhere underneath was a girl who turned into a woman with a spine of steel. As for Banks, he was definitely a bona fide jerk. Even more than a jerk with the horrible things he'd say and the way he'd behave. It was so uncouth and uncalled for, but he was projecting so hard and Noura was his scapegoat and the person he could use as he pleased because she would take it and accept it. They have sizzling chemistry despite his antagonism towards her. Noura always handled things exceptionally. My favorite part of the book was towards the end, when everything blew up and the aftermath following. That ramped up the emotions and had me completely engrossed because this was the type of gut churning that I sign up for when I read RK Lilley's books. However, I think this portion could have been elaborated more so the full effect of demolition and repair could really resonate deeper because it wasn't enough even to the epilogue. I did enjoy seeing Banks transform, but I needed more from him, too, as far as appreciating the inner beauty of Noura that he failed to see initially and the devastation of his actions. And while they were uber hot and sexy together, I would've loved more conversation and connection between them with shared vulnerabilities as a couple relating to one another beyond the lust and passion. Still, this book kept me up all night reading and I couldn't put it down.

Review: I normally love this author. I one-clicked this without really knowing what I was getting...that said this was not one of my favorites. The characters were underdeveloped and the whole thing felt very rushed. There was never that sizzle factor that I’ve come to expect with her books.
