Review: After suffering from digestive issues for about 20 years following pancreatic surgery, I was finally diagnosed with EPI. Unfortunately my doctor, although a specialist, wasn't as helpful as I had hoped. He did prescribe Zenpep digestive enzymes, which helped, but he made no mention of supplements so I saw some improvement but not as much as I had hoped for. One night the idea just popped into my head that maybe there was a book on the subject that I could read for self help. I am so thankful I found Primal Pancreas. While I was nowhere near as sick as the author I could definitely see my symptoms progressing to a similar level of sickness. I took his suggestions on supplementation and diet to heart and have seen wonderful results. Instead of 4-6 trips to the bathroom everyday I am down to 1 or 2. I found his advice on amino acids and CIBO most helpful. The supplements seem to work best if I take them with a Zenpep caplet. I highly recommend this book and I am so thankful I found it

Review: This book just didn't reasonate with me. I feel for the author, but his case is a typical, so I couldn't find much to help me. On top of that, I want solutions that fit with my daily life, and his solutions require a total overhaul of what your life really looks like. I just need some recipes that won't make me have pain and nausea, with things I can find in my kitchen.

Review: Thank you so much for writing this book, as someone that is also in late stage EPI, I appreciate hearing your story, knowing how to proceed, what to ask for, healing strategies, and feeling like there is hope when I don't feel like there is much of that. I have already read the book twice all the way through and have read individual sections more than that. If you are dealing with pancreatic issues yourself this is a great resource to help you with this long road to trying to recover and gain ground.

Review: The book is well organized, from symptoms of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency to road to recovery. The author gives you a first hand look at what has been of benefit to him as he has lived through his search for health and recovery. With a detailed outline of medical tests, supplements and foods that can help and the ones that are a detriment. The book also gives you a feel for the frustration that exists in navigating your way through the medical system if you have a non standard complex issue.

Review: This book did provide some good advice. It’s way too technical for me. But, most of all, I’ve been told the pancreas does not heal itself. You can salvage what is left of it. I question how his pancreas made him so terribly sick he could not function yet he came out of his self prescribed treatment and is now well. How did he heal his pancreas?

A lot of test results I didn’t understand but the discussion on EPI is valuable and would recommend to anyone learning about this health issue. Good questions listed for dr appointments and good tests to request your dr order for you. The more you know the better you can learn to live with this disease.
