Review: I was married for 17 years, then started dating and met a guy I was crazy about. In the normal girl way I was clingy, needy and over all a freakin insecure doormat. Trying so hard to please him instead of pleasing myself. Of course he became less interested with each passing day to the point of I’d go weeks without hearing from him no phone call/text. Nothing.Then I read both books and started applying the principals and OMG! What a game changer!!Everything changed within the relationship he became more and more interested and really started to invest emotionally in our connection.The more I invested in and honored myself the more he pressed in and invested into our relationship. I started seeing him in a whole new way. He went from a selfish egotistical a hole to a loving and attentive man that loves with all his heart.We’ve been living together for 2years . ????I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Sherry for all your principles, I still use the book as a reference to this day.

Review: My background: I’m 38, mother of two and divorced. Even though my ex husband is a good person, he still needed to be ‘fixed.’ I seem to always find the men that have some sort of serious issue that needs to be fixed (side note, he left me... I’m too loyal to ever betray a person).And, I am also aware that even though I am intelligent, attractive, educated and a professional, I do tend to be a little too nice. So, I gave this book a try.Some of it is a little corny and definitely not true for all men. I don’t want to go into detail to ruin the book for you, but I’m pretty sure that woman over 35 will know which areas I’m speaking of. However, the advise about how to respond to certain guys and certain scenarios is good. I’ve actually always responded in such ways which is not good. If I have always responded this way, and I still get stuck with the fixers, jerks, or totally emotionally unavailable guys, then I don’t know how this method actually works.I don’t want to bash the author because I think it’s a great read and very well written. I say give it a read. Maybe these tips will help you!Also, I no longer use those actions that are advised in the book. Not because I want to see if the opposite works for me but, it’s all just too much work! Being single actually isn’t so bad.Remember ladies to love you first!

Review: I like this book a lot. It tells you to be feisty and not just go along with what a man dictates. You should not always be available for last minute plans. You should not text "right back". Dress feminine but not too slutty. Don't slave over big meals and serving. Don't ask about "the relationship". Disagree with him. Get absorbed in a book and don't hang around like a sycophantic groupie. All good advice.I don't agree with her on sex though. Be yourself, she says, the independent and strong woman that you are. But don't sex on the first date? So much for being yourself! Ladies - if you have chemistry or just want sex, feel free to have sex on the first date. Not having sex to impress a man is just as bad, if not worse than having sex to impress him. Bottom line, don't have sex to impress him at all. Just have sex if you want it. If he doesn't stick around maybe he has a madonna-whore complex and you definitely don't need that crap!So read the book and enjoy it, but I say ignore the sex part. Most of the other advice is spot on though.

Review: I loved this book entirely for the way it focuses on self-respect. If you respect yourself enough, and don't fall for any b.s., and don't put up with it either, you will find the right guy for you. It's not about appeasing him. It's about serving your needs and finding the person who will best suit your life. You aren't an object; you have feelings and opinions; and you are in no way his servant. You are you, and you deserve the best.Several chapters in here had their faults-- for example, teaching women how to behave while giving their guy oral sex. First of all, you NEVER have to do anything you don't want to do. Second, with the men saying pretty bluntly that they expect you to not enjoy it, there is no real motivation on your part to do it. Only do what you want to do.Secondly, there's a section on "tests" vs. disrespect, whereby men will try to evaluate you by purposely being jerks-- but as Sherry even points out, any amount of disrespect is too much. Do not tolerate any of it. I don't mean put up a fuss- I mean get a new guy. If he's going to do that, as she explains as well, he'll try more and more disrespectful things just to see what he can get away with. You don't want that type of guy. Don't waste your time. And, as she says as well, once you're out of it, and realize you've been letting yourself be disrespected, that's the killer for you. That's what'll bother you most. So don't go down that path. You deserve the best!The whole purpose of this book, minus the parts I didn't agree with, above, is to invest in yourself, and value yourself first. You don't need him; you want him. You are whole on your own. And you are the one who gets to ask: what's in it for me? instead of "where is this relationship going?" Who gave him that control? Not you! Not me! You live your life and the right guy will come and see how he can fit into it. Enjoy!
