Review: We play the game Telestrations at dinner time and my mom who is in her 70s is always complaining that she can't draw. And it also takes her a real long time...and some of her drawings...are creepy/scary - as in something that could be in the depressed artist section of a modern art museum. I might just be too plebeian to appreciate it.So I got her this book for her birthday and she loved it! Then she tried it and complained like other people who left reviews...that it showed her how to draw a circle, triangle, and square...but not how to draw an elephant. I did get her a more thorough book that she hasn't gone through yet, but has more instructions.So...for my mom who is a beginner...this book wasn't the best help. It's cute, but it would have benefited from having a few pages with actual instructions for people who are true beginners that they could use as a roadmap for other examples. In her words..."I'm just a novice...even less than that!".

Review: I bought this for my daughter and she's drawing "kawaii" things all the time now. She's 11 and really getting into manga and all things Japanese. This was a perfect complement to her more serious manga how-to books.

Review: Look! I left my 9 year old girl alone for an hour to her paper and pencil, and she become an expert at drawing cute things! She was very excited to draw Phoenix, cute bowls of rice, and bees. Highly recommended for kids interested in following step by step drawing. It's fairly simple and fun.

Review: I bought this for my 11-year-old niece and she adores it! She loves being able to draw all of her favorite animals, and she loves how cute they are! I think she got more confidence in her creativity by seeing how well she could follow the steps and create something she loves, which is priceless!
