Review: If you're not familiar with Oglaf, the online Web comic by Trudy Cooper, you might want to go check it out online for a bit before you purchase this. In a nutshell, think: sex, magic, swords, sex, lizard of guilt, lesbian sex, semen, flang, and more sex.

In other words, it's perfect in every way.

In all seriousness, Oglaf is for mature audiences only. The sex jokes are unbelievably witty, but this isn't softcore porn...it's explicit - and GORGEOUS! This collection contains the very beginning of Oglaf to some of Cooper's most recent strips (as of Jan. 2012), and the quality of her art starts out strong and only gets better.

One issue with the printing is that it's quite dark; for a fuller color comic, this is only a problem on panels that utilize a dark palate - the comic seems to fade into the page. On the bright side, this only affects a handful of the comics - the rest are lushly printed on high quality paper. However, I didn't even realize that the alt text that appears online was printed next to the comics until about halfway through because of the color; the font is printed as a dark, dark brown against a black background. It's nearly unreadable, and would have looked much better in white.

So, why give it a 5 star review with this color issue? Cooper's art and writing makes up for any minor issue from the printer...and there's some extras thrown in at the back of the book, including Ian's "Doesn't Count" Kama sutra guide.

Fans will absolutely want this book, but this is also a great gift for anyone who enjoys web comics or mature graphic novels. When this came in the mail, my boyfriend picked it up, started reading it, was shocked and appalled...and couldn't put it down. He read the whole thing in one sitting, laughing from beginning to end. While you can't get it on Amazon, you can order it by heading over to the Oglaf Web site, where you can also get caught up on the latest strips.

In short:
Pros: High quality paper, art/writing is some of the absolute best in the world of webcomics, and contains the bulk of the available comic
Con: Dark background makes alt text hard to read and some of the darker comics harder to appreciate (but this is a minor issue)

Review: I was so happy to see this web comic collection come out in print; sexy, hilarious and raunchy, it's def worth the read! If you're unsure, go check out the web comic first to see if it's up your alley, because it's 1. Not for every one, and 2. NOT for kids. And while we're at it, yes, it is NSFW.

Anyway, great art, hilarious writing, some of the funniest porn you'll ever come across! Oh! And written by a kick ass female artist and writer! Yay!

Ps: if it's still sold out here on amazon and you're looking for a copy, Topotaco may have it available directly on their site as they are the publishers. My local comic book store said they have a hard time keeping this book in stock due to the high demand.
