Review: I am enjoying the book and it’s message, but as I was reading, I found page 82 and 83 was torn down the middle and half the page was gone. I am not sure what I missed on those two pages.

Review: I bought this book for a friend who is currently going through a loss of his wife at such a young age. Like Mattie, he was only able to enjoy his marriage for one year. Reading this book, felt like it even helped me and my previous losses. His birthday is coming up and though he may not be ready to read, I will be gifting this to him. I highly recommend to anyone who would like to understand what grieving may look like and what your loved one may need of you. Thank you for sharing your story, Mattie. It’s so beautifully written! I’d love to read about your new chapter in life and how that experience looks like for you when you remarry. Congratulations on your engagement. Truly happy for you both! Review: I’ve always had respect for Alan Jackson and his family. Maddie’s loss hit home for me. I am much older, but had a similar experience that had adverse effects on my life and still does at my age of 70. My fiancé of only nine days was hit by a drunk driver, long ago, on his way home from his military base on Christmas Day. He almost burned alive in his car. He and his best friend had spent a lot of time and money fixing up a collectible car that was burned beyond recognition. The long-painful recovery and many surgeries left him disfigured, addicted to drugs, and not truly happy for the rest of his life. We married and lived together for 10 years before finally divorcing. I was 18 yrs. old and he was 21 when it happened. We had met at church camp when I was 15. My life has been filled with guilt and regret. An experience that intense, never leaves you. It is impossible for a person to emerge from something like that as the same person, although he really tried. He was so good looking and a good Christian. Maddie’s positive attitude and ability to make lemonade from it has helped me, even after all these years. Somehow I found myself sitting right behind Maddie at her dad’s recent concert in Knoxville. I wanted to say something but valued her privacy. I too have been writing a book on this experience. It has stalled many times because I’m sometimes too emotional to write the hard parts. I pray for their family as they go through the health challenges they face and handle with so much faith and dignity. Alan’s concert was perfect. He gave the best quality performance ever, even though I’m sure it wasn’t easy. God Bless Maddie and the Jackson family. Books like this and the work she is doing is essential to victims of tragedies, especially the ones that happen early in adult life.

Review: I bought this book to read first to see if I should give it to my daughter-in-law who lost her Mother 3 years ago at the age of 50. I heard Mattie on a podcast and was so inspired by her story and just the way she articulated her emotions and how it is normal to grieve and have doubts and still be a Christian. I feel my Daughter in-law keeps so much inside and is still in so much pain. I wanted to make sure it was o.k. to give her this book so I needed to kind of "proof read" it first. As a mother in-law you worry about over stepping. I also wanted to give it to my Niece who had lost her baby boy several years ago and will struggle for the rest of her life. Anyway, I am now going to order a dozen copies and have them around just to give to people in times of need. My daughter has a friend who had a miscarriage, someone in my office has cancer etc. This is a book for everyone. You don't even need to have lost someone or be going through a hard time. This is a book to get you focused on Jesus and what is important in your everyday walk on this earth. Focus on helping others and finding your peace. Highly recommended and a book you will pick up at different times in your life.
