Review: THIS BOOK is by far the most informative plant book I have ever read. Not only are there many great tips, but a lot of basic knowledge on understanding how plants work for them to thrive. Things that many plant people may not know. PLUS general care for many different plants. Seriously buy this book. It’s worth it.I really wanted to give this 4 stars because I am pretty upset that it arrived slightly damaged, but I don’t want this great book to have a lower rating just because of how amazon packaged it.

Review: I heard about this book & interview with the author on Bloom & Grow Podcast & was very impressed by the depth of his knowledge. I immediately bought the book. I love everything about it - photography, style, but most important the way its written. Its not your standard "50 favorite plants care" style book (nothing is wrong with them, I have plenty of those & enjoy them too). Instead the book goes in more detail of what it means to be a plant "parent" - understanding soil, light, etc. It teaches you to be flexible, to follow the plant signs, instead of ridged rules. I like that. I highly recommended it.

Review: I really appreciate Darryl Cheng’s logic when it comes to houseplants. It’s guided the way I look at and care for my plants. I work at a flower shop that also sells plants and I share his techniques and thoughts about watering and light and natural leaf loss with customers daily as they purchase plants for their space. I’ve read so many plant books. If you could only have one houseplant book I would confidently say this is the one to pick.

Review: I LOVE this book! It's so educational and helpful that I would almost say everything I knew about caring for my plants was wrong. After finishing it, I actually wish it was longer so I could keep learning and following this vein of knowledge.Alas, Daryl has prepared me too well, in that now when I come across articles or guides about "How to Care For ______ Plant" I know I won't learn much from them, because taking care of plants is easier than following specific species guides when you do it the way Daryl teaches. Guides can only offer you narrow-view care specifics, and without reading this book, if anything goes wrong following said guides, you might freak out a little. But with this book, you come to see that if your plant doesn't react the way the "guide" says it will, it's totally normal and you know how to deal with it.If you don't have any other indoor plant care books yet, start with this one!! If you already have other books and are intrigued about the things you've heard about this book, get it right now!!

Review: This book was made with such careful detail that it stands out from other plant books I’ve read. Other plant books that I’ve checked out, IMHO, read more like an encyclopedia: they would state something along the lines of “xx plant needs such light and only thrive in these conditions”. But this book is much more comprehensive than that. It made me think of what the different light levels (e.g. bright light, low light) meant; it made me realize that I was actually starving some of my plants of their food source. I’ve also learned about holistic plant care and what it means to apply that towards my plants. This book doesn’t contain unnecessary information like how to build a terrarium or other tutorials that I won’t use. Its point is how to guide an individual to take optimal care of their plants. Overall, this book is practical, focused, and concise. I would highly recommend this book to new plant parents.

Review: If you're remotely interested in owning house-plants this book is for you!I've been following Darryl Cheng on Instagram for quite awhile and his page is wonderful. It's chocked full of tips on taking care of plants along with very cool time lapses on how plants respond to different environments. He's a great teacher to say the least. When he announced that he was releasing a book I immediately had to buy it, and have not been disappointed.It has everything you'll need to succeed as a happy plant parent. From understanding the right type of soil, light, and water; to even things like properly aerating your soil and cleaning your plant's leaves. It has a good list of in-depth care for certain plants too like the Snake plant and the Monstera. For $15 this book is a complete steal, especially for someone like me who has killed many plants in his day. I'm excited to be more attentive to my plants, not overwater them and really see my plant babies grow.
