Review: I am a big fan of using Essential Oils but with a garden full of beautiful herbs and plants such as Lavender, Rosemary, Sage and Patchouli I have often wondered if making my own oils was within reach!

This book answered this and so much more! Often the books you find free or low cost of the Kindle are short, very basic and sometimes poorly written -this was not the case here! This was an exceptional piece of writing and the author clearly knows, loves and enjoys sharing the subject matter!

This book is a very comprehensive guide to essential oils and though I own several books on this topic, this had far more useful information that I had not seen covered in other publications. It begins with a detailed description of Essential Oils -their history, use from Antiseptics to other ailments and conditions, how to administer (this was particularly thorough as oils can be problematic is not used carefully) and ends with how to prepare a medicine chest with essential oils, preparation of salves and syrups, and using oils for beauty or teas. This is all in addition to the subject matter of making your own oils!

The book also helped me in understanding how I could make my own -from how to gather and preserve plants one would use in making these oils, to the equipment needed (along with useful links and tips to find further information) and a guide to several methods to making your own essential oils - again with links to video tutorials. It has a simply step by step guide for even novices like myself. I also particularly liked the guide to plants and which parts are used in essential oil making as well as how they can be used to treat various ailments!

Well written comprehensive guide that is so much more than the title suggests!

Review: “Using Oils & Herbs for Optimum Health” by Amber Richards is truly an astounding book that I have been able to use and apply. I have been on a health trip with my family for the past few months trying to live a more organic lifestyle. Everything from exercise to what we eat, to what we wear has been the focus of our families daily agenda. I stumbled across this book and thought I would it would be perfect for us to try out.

In short, I can say that from start to finish “Using Oils & Herbs for Optimum Health” has captivated our imagination in a fun, thought-provoking manner that we simply cannot get enough of. The medicinal advantages of using these astounding oils in an organic fashion is brilliant, captivating and a must read for all to apply. My only regret is not having found this book sooner.

In closing this is truly a gem you do not want to miss out on. I will certainly apply and use with my family and know that my two boys and daughter will cherish the time we spent together making all of these oils together as a family. 5 Stars!!!

Starts with a table of contents in chornicalogical order, than an introduction about doing things that are healthy.
Essences, oils and the history are discussed in detail.
There are pictures along the way, small color ones.
Like how they mention the herb or spice and what powers it has and how it combines with things in your system.
Other suses are also described.
There are recipes but not written out as such. very detailed and descriptive.
Love glossary part. Also the part where the spice is mentioned and what is will help cure.
Make your own section tells you what you'll need in the way of equipment and other ingredients and how to make the item.
Also beauty treatments are also explained. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

Review: Disappointed. Good job of selling paper and ink. Triple spaced lists of plant species and applications to fill up pages does not provide a very good value for the price. The actual "make your own" is glossed over in 4 pages. A better title would have been "Introduction to essential oils".

Review: This book is not at all what I thought it would be. It is not published through a reputable publishing agency, or any agency for that matter. The cover image is poor quality and blurry. There were so many spelling errors that I quit reading due to frustration. There is very little factual information provided and zero scientific evidence to support her writing. I am a user of essential oils and this is the last thing you should purchase if you are wanting to make your own. The only reason I give it any stars is because it was shipped rather quickly.

Review: This is something than I plan to do and was happy when I found a book that tells you how. I haven't read this cover to cover yet but plan to. I don't feel I necessarily need a lot of any particular oil that I need to worry about how much one plant will make.
