Title: Another Kellerman Hit
Date: Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2017
Review: I'm a big fan of the Alex Delaware series and, like all the rest, this one does not disappoint. These books are so well written with lots of plot twists. Alex and Milo are one of my favorite crime solving teams!

Review: I love the characters in these books, how they keep growing from book to book. Great story line and character development

Title: Totally useless descriptions to the reader
Date: Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2017
Review: 560 pages of which I think 360 are descriptions of everybody complete outfits and decor of every room Delaware entered. In detail. not just overall style, but down to trinkets on a mantel. Totally useless descriptions to the reader. And the author not only wasting paper writing those descriptions, he goes on reiterating all conversations between Delaware and whoever he has been harassing. And that's what he seems to be doing all the time - interrogating people who should just tell him to take a hike instead of answering his questions he has no business to ask. Being as brilliant psychologist as the author makes him up, he is very rude and mostly inappropriate in communications with people, and I don't care if they are bad or criminal. He makes assumptions about everybody's intentions on the fly, with no tread of real information, and acts like an arrogant righteous a***
I wonder if this is supposed to be attractive quality in Lalaland.

Title: far from his best work
Date: Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2021
Review: Big fan here...this falls flat. I didn't care about any of the characters, there was way too much clinical psych discussion, too much fawning over the girl...I ended up not finishing it, and tossing it. You wanna read a GREAT book by him? Try 'The Butcher's Theater'. I read that one 5 times.

Title: An early, different Delaware-Sturgis book
Date: Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2017
Review: A Kellerman lover, re-reading this early book wound up as a bit of a disappointment. It had the usual unwieldy and unnecessary adjectives describing people, their personalities, and their clothing....you get used to that if you read Kellerman. It has an interesting plot, twists and turns, some unusual people and themes. But it drags on a little long, and the ending scene is beyond bizarre and unnecessarily sexually weird. Also, the much-beloved Milo doesn't appear very early, so those who love the Delaware-Sturgis repartee may be a bit disappointed for the first third of the book. Milo does take on a different role -- he's on unpaid suspension -- which shows us a different aspect of his personality not shown in other books where he's LAPD only. A high point comes near the end when Milo and Alex uncharacteristically go after each other verbally, putting a different take on their unique friend/work relationship. I read this one decades ago, it does seem to hold up pretty well to today's different world. Kellerman lovers will probably love this book, though I just liked it.

Title: A Search for Independence and Love
Date: Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2020
Review: Private Eyes begins with a young girl bravely seeking answers and ends with the same girl, now much older, demonstrating perseverance in the face of fear, confusion and danger. It is also the story of a woman wounded by unexplained psychological scars, who seeks independence and love from the unexpected. Private Eyes is an intriguing “page turner” that will leave you wanting more.

Title: Could Be Me?
Date: Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2016
Review: For me, this one dragged, off and on, reading, leaving. Wanting it to end, actually. Perhaps it is series doldrums. But...

Takes a new tangent, perhaps setting up a new direction for our characters, an interesting diversion which assists Det. Sturgis through a rough set of life circumstance.

The story is complex, highly personal for Dr. D. who draws it Det. Sturgis, a good thing, with good people with psychological black clouds they have earned, not their own fault, not deserved but set in place by others without the person's control. We have all been there, done that.

Like I said, could be me.
