The title of the book by Lydia Davis, translator in the United States of Maurice Blanchot, Michel Leiris and Marcel Proust, knowingly confuses the end of an idyll with the end of its literary evocation all the more because it will appear throughout that the story traced has all the symptoms of a novel, and that what she portrays as fiction is entirely inspired by real elements
