Review: In the three days I’ve had this book, I’ve lost 4lbs (eating plenty, not depriving myself), and I can feel from the fit of my pants that it’s come right off my middle!

The principles of this Mediterranean approach to eating are laid out simply in a friendly, logical, and easy-to-understand way, and the recipes are approachable and doable while being delicious and healthy. When more β€œexotic” ingredients are occasionally called for, the author often gives a quick description of what these items are, and many times lists a more easily found substitution. Recipes are organized into categories, and include serving sizes plus nutritional info, which I really appreciate. There are vey few photos in this book, but with the recipe descriptions and added tips, this hasn’t bothered me in the least.

I ordered this book hoping for some great inspiration and ideas for adding variety when cooking simply and in a healthy way, and it hasn’t disappointed. The Tuscan Bean Soup with Kale (I’m not a great photographer, but pictured!) and the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus were the first things I whipped up because the ingredients were mostly staples that I already had on hand ... and they were amazing!

With the results I’m seeing in just three days, and the spike in my energy level and feeling of wellness, I’m so thankful for this book!

Review: Easy to follow recipes which are able to be made with most of your items in the frig and pantry. High blood pressure and cholesterol are two significant factors in our country's overall health issues.

The DASH diet addresses issues with hypertension while providing heart healthy benefits of the Mediterranean plan. Together they are a formidable team in making positive changes in our diets.

I have lost 154 pounds and am returning to this way of eating to complete my goal of losing another 50-60 pounds. The photography is wonderful and directions easy to follow. Each recipe yields enough for 2 meals and a lunch.

My daughter got a magazine which had menus in it and WoW, so bought this cook book and am really pleased with it. not only am I eating for my heart but finally loosing some weight. Review: The recipes are complex and require a lot of ingredients (harissa paste, zatar seasoning, etc.) that a lot of people may not have on hand. For a foodie, this is probably great. For my aging mother, who likes good food but isn't going to be haunting the aisles of Whole Foods every day, it's not very useful. I wish I'd looked more carefully at the book before I ordered it.

Review: Great recipes. I will use these. I do need to lower cholesterol, so will modify some recipes. I do a lot of substitution: yogurt for mayo, almond milk for cows milk. Good recipes will give me a good base.
