... ASSURES OF CONTINUOUS LEGISLATIVE BACKING FOR IMPROVED HEALTHCARE SERVICES

The Chairman of the Cross River State House of Assembly Committee on Health, Rt. Hon. Hilary Ekpang Bisong, JP, FCPA has assured the Ministry of Health of continuous legislative support and collaboration towards enhancing improved healthcare for the citizens. He made the declaration at the official Launch and Implementation of Accountability Framework for the health sector.

The Chief Whip who underscored the importance of accountability while rendering healthcare services, said that legislative backing is key to overall implementation successes. He commended the Ministry of Health, and Partners, for producing a workable accountability framework document that serve as operational guidelines for management and Frontline workers.

Speaking earlier, the Special Adviser on Health, Dr Ekpo Ekpo Bassey, said that health services must follow global best practices which makes the accountability framework an important guiding tool, noting that staff dedication and commitment is vital in health administration. He also affirmed that Cross River State government under the Leadership of Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has Healthcare as top priority.

At the Launch were the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Egbe Ayuk; Statistician General of the State, Dr Josephat Ogar; DG Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Vivian Mesembe; Representative of the Primary Healthcare Services; Head of Service.

Highlights of the event featured the Launching and Dissemination of the framework document and goodwill messages from Development Partners like W.H.O, Breakthrough Action and other stakeholders present.
